Brooklyn came out on fire in the second half, quickly surmounting a ten point lead from which they never looked back. Junior forward Demek Mair (Brooklyn, NY/William E. Grady) exploded for 22 points in just the second half, he had 26 on night. Sophomore guard Frantz Dunell (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) (Bay Shore, NY/Bay Shore) had several fast break lay-ups as he tried to keep the Privateers in this one. Dunell, one of the few returning players from last season, scored a season high 13 points in 29 minutes.

Senior point guard Gary Browne (Blauvelt, N.Y./Tappan Zee) (Blauvelt, NY/Tappan Zee) finished the game with 10 points which ties his season high, while junior guard Jeffrey Jean-Baptiste (Queens, NY/Holy Cross) put up 15 points for Brooklyn before fouling out with just over seven minutes left to go.

The Privateers will open up Skyline Conference play on Wednesday when they travel to Long Island to take on the defending champion Panthers of Old Westbury in a 7:30 pm start.
